That is just a fact, it is not the truth

Is this statement meaningful: "That is just a fact, it is not the truth."?  This is my thought experiment of the day.

The Conference of the Birds

Tomorrow is opening night of the Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse production of The Conference of the Birds.  I have the great pleasure to play my cello and bass guitar in the band for this production.  I also have the pleasure to be in a production with my two children.

This production is very interesting and challenging.  The kids perform on stage with puppets of birds which are derived from ordinary objects like Transformers.  Greta's bird is an owl which emerges from a small box.  I wish I could say more about the production, but it is the nature of playing in a pit orchestra that you miss a lot of the show because you are so focused on the music, entrance queues, playing below the dialogue, etc.  I will be present for every performance but it will take me the better part of the eight performances to glean the plot.

Music holds a special joy for me.  For tonight's dress rehearsal I arrived directly from work, completely exhausted from a frustrating day of close deadlines and little success.  As the night progressed, my energy grew.  By the time we reached the end of the show I could have played for hours longer.  And I know from past performances that when we have an audience the experience will be incredible.  There is nothing more present, so utterly in the moment, than playing music for an audience.  Words fail me when I try to describe the experience.
